Aaron David Oakley, Jr.

Reidsville: Aaron David Oakley, Jr., 68, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Wesley Long Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Noon, Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. David was born in Rockingham County to the late Aaron Oakley, Sr. and Elizabeth Turner Oakley. He was retired from the City of Reidsville and later retired from Food Lion. He was an avid NASCAR fan. David was always eager to lend a hand to a friend in need. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Janice Sue Starnes Oakley; his sister, Helen Haizlip; his brother, Danny Oakley; and his special aunt, Orena Oakley. He is survived by his daughters, Nicki Hyler of Asheville and Jennifer Paschal and husband, Ronnie of Reidsville; grandchildren, Nina Ware, Adrianna Hyler, Stallone Hyler, Ronnie “Skeeter” Paschal, III, Kali Paschal and Christopher Holland, II; one great granddaughter; sister, Annie Ruth Oakley Tatum of Eden; sister-in-law, Anne Oakley of Reidsville; brother-in-law and chauffer, Roy Starnes; special friend, Larry Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.
