Albert Theodore Loye

Reidsville: Albert Theodore Loye, 92, of 200 Berrymore Road, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with his longtime friend, Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. Glenda Bennett officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Also, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at his home. Albert was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Rank and Annie Mae Carter Loye. He retired from MacField and loved the outdoors. He worked on the farm and especially enjoyed raising tomatoes, potatoes and working on any kind of farm equipment or lawn mowers. Albert had a special gift with animals, rescuing dogs, squirrels, owls and any other animal that needed his touch. He was particularly drawn to horses over the years and loved riding on Sundays. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Washburn Loye; his son, Mickey Dwayne Loye; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Albert is survived by his wife, Joanne Travis Loye of the home; his sons, Albert “Junior” Loye and wife, Carolyn and Rickey Wayne Loye and wife, Pam all of Reidsville; step sons, Roger Dale Cox and wife, Althea and Benny Ray Cox and wife, Bobbette all of Reidsville; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; sisters, Mary Comer of Charlotte and Roxie Bobinette of Colorado and a large extended family.
