Alene Elizabeth Paschal Smithey Parker

Alene Elizabeth Paschal Smithey Parker, age 86 of Reidsville, NC went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 27, 2020.

The funeral service will be held at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Elder David Underwood officiating. The burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.

Alene was born in 1934 to the late Alben B. Paschal and Ola Smith Paschal. She worked as a Quality Control Tech. for Sylvania for over 20 years. She loved her family dearly, enjoyed working in her yard, Quilting, oil painting, SUDOKU and the occasional trip to the Cherokee Casino with her siblings.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Reid Smithey and her second husband, Sherwood Parker; son, Dexter Smithey; sister, Linda Smithey and brother, Merylin Paschal.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Carter and husband, Mike and Janet Eastwood and husband, Glenn; Son, Will Smithey and wife, Leigh Anna; brothers, Rogers Paschal, Jerry Paschal, and Jimmy Paschal; sisters, Ann Smith, Katherine Miles and Maye Ware; grandchildren, Brad Carter, Brian Carter, Stefanie Courts, Steven Eastwood, Ashleigh Smithey, April Pulliam and Josh Pulliam; great grandchildren, Haley Courts, Sadie Rose Carter, Madison Courts, Cameron Carter, Nathan Eastwood and Lucas Eastwood as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff who were so helpful at Hospice of Rockingham County and Carolina Apothecary. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Hospice of Rockingham County at P.O. Box 281 Wentworth, NC 27375.
