Alice Susan Ayers Caudle

 Alice Susan Ayers Caudle 92, past away at home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on December 27,2022 at Lively Stones Church Cemetery with Pastor John Whicker officiating. The family will see friends on Tuesday before the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 12:30 - 1:30 PM  graveside will follow.

She was born in Fancy Gap, Carroll County Virginia to the late Artie Thomas Ayers and Mary Laura Ayers, and was the oldest of 12 children, 7 brothers and 4 sisters. She loved the mountains and the old ways of life. She worked at Dan River Mills from age 16 to 44 years old. Then farmed with her husband Charles Edward Caudle Sr. whom she married February 25, 1950.

They had 6 children . 5 girls and1 boy. She lived most of her adult life in Caswell and Rockingham County North Carolina. She was of Baptist Faith.

She was predeceased in life by both of her parents , her husband Ed, and son , Eddie Caudle. Also, by her brothers, Roy Lee Ayers, Harvey Ayers, Roman Ayers, Jimmy Ayers and Jerry Ayers: and one sister Bertie Ayers Hyler Harris.

She is survived by her five daughters: Wilma Meadows (Lawson) , Deborah Wilson, Sharon Minter Horsley, Brenda Hick (Kenny), Rhonda Spicer ( Danny). Her daughter in law Cheryl Yates Caudle.

She also is survived by her 17 grandchildren , numerous great grand children and several great, great grandchildren.

She lived the last 3 years of her life in declining health with her daughters Rhonda and Deborah. She was taken care of by them and  their sister Sharon. She was greatly loved by all and will be so sincerely missed.

She went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours peacefully in her sleep, December 22, 2022.
