Allen McBryde Gunn

Reidsville: Allen McBryde Gunn, 77, of 1883 Pennrose Drive, died on Monday, June 22, 2009 at Kindred Hospital.A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Mr. Gunn was born in Rockingham County to the late Thomas Allen and Carrie Witty Gunn. He was of the Christian faith. Allen retired from the American Tobacco Company after 35 years of service and was a member of the American Tobacco Union. He was a Sergeant in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Allen enjoyed playing golf, gardening and being a member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Jessie Thompson.He is survived by his wife, Pauline Chaney Gunn of the home; sons, Kevin and Steven Gunn; step-daughters, Denise Tudor, Karen Tucker and husband, David, Pamela Loye and husband, Ricky; grandchildren, Kasey, Kellie, and Katie; step-grandchildren, Jessica Westmoreland Hollinghead and husband Derrick, Braxton Westmoreland and wife Kelley and Laura Tudor Cole; two great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Puckett, and a special love for Jessica Westmoreland Hollinghead.
