Alvis Jones Shelton

Reidsville: Alvis Jones Shelton, 90, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at home. Funeral services at 2:30 pm, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Thompsonville Baptist Church with burial following at Lakeview Memorial Park. There will be visitation with family and friends Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Thompsonville Baptist Church. He went to be with his Heavenly Father, united there with his wife, Ruby, parents, William Stephen and Jettie Amos Shelton, brothers, Moir, Otis, Roy, Russell; sister, Marietta and grandson, Caleb. Left to treasure his memory are sons, Steve and wife, Mary Sue, Don and wife, Julie; daughter, Mary and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Chris, Spence, Matt, Scott, Will and Elizabeth and 10 great grandchildren, his “second” family, the children and grandchildren of brother, Russell, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. His legacy is his love for his family and friends, challenging all to do the same. He never met a stranger and had a special gift to love and comfort those around him. The family would like to thank the medical staff at UNC Hospital and Hospice for their special care during his last journey. In lieu of flowers, he would like contributions be made to Thompsonville Baptist Church, 2033 NC-87, Reidsville, NC 27320.
