Reidsville- Alyne “Mama Neen” Dixon Martin, 87, of 2305 Pine Lane, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Morris Brown officiating.
Alyne was born in the Oregon Hill Community of Rockingham County on Christmas morning 1927 to the late Robert Lester Dixon and Dottie Elizabeth Robertson Dixon. She was a member of Woodmont United Methodist Church and retired from the Reidsville City Schools as a Teacher’s Assistant. She was a past member of the Red Hot Red Hatters and the While-a-While Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Strader, Louise Durham, Sara Bolden and Doris Page; brother, Billy Dixon.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Overs S. “Slim” Martin of the home; daughters, Phyllis Briles and husband, Ken of Troy, NC, Jan Lindsey and husband, Bill of Reidsville; grandchildren, Ryan Moore of Troy, Kyle Lindsey and wife, Christal of Clemmons, NC and Caroline Lindsey of Reidsville; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal visitation, but the family will receive friends at the residence.
