Browns Summit: Anne Penn Wall Hooper, 88, went home to be with Jesus on November 10, 2018, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Cochran and Rev. Randall Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday November 14, 2018.
A farming family, she was born to the late John Wall Sr. and Bessie Jones Wall where she helped on the farm and learned to be a home maker. Anne was the first baby girl born at Annie Penn Hospital on June 12, 1930. She was a wonderful cook and loved making meals for her family. Mrs. Hooper was very involved in the home demonstration club and helped organize the construction of the Williamsburg Community Building. She attended Friendship United Methodist but grew up playing the piano for Smyrna Church. Most of all she loved her family and was absolutely devoted to their success and well being. She will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Oscar Lee Hooper Jr.; son, John Lee Hooper; brothers, John, James and Elwood Wall.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Rumley and husband Darrell; grandchildren, John (Laura), Kevin (Kandis), and Matthew (Judit) Rumley along with Jessica (Brian) Estes; great grandchildren, Rebecca, Lucas, Kennedy and Catherine Rumley.
