Anne Carter Jordan

Reidsville –Mrs. Anne C. Jordan, 71, of Reidsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2nd, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at two o’clock on Friday, October 6th, 2017 at Reidsville Alliance Church with Rev. Peter Dodge and Rev. Lynn Long will officiating. Anne was born on May 12th, 1946 in Rockingham County to the late Howard Dailey and Florence Lynn Carter. She was retired from the Rockingham County School System, where she worked in the child nutrition department as a secretary and bookkeeper, after working nine years with Burlington Industries as a personnel clerk. Anne was a lifetime member of Reidsville Alliance Church. She served as the church organist for many years, as well as being part of the Alliance Quartet. She was an avid reader, loved music, baking, the mountains and fall of the year. She was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Jordan, Jr.; her siblings, Allen Carter, Franklin Carter, Wynona Clements and Rev. Melvin Carter. She is survived by her daughters, Angela Halbrook and husband, David; Christine C. Strader and husband, David; her grandchildren, Ashley Doss and husband, Jordan; Kaitlyn Halbrook and fiancé, Casey Johnson; Christopher Strader and Noah Strader; her great-grandchildren, Ava and Jacob Doss; Numerous nieces and nephews; her step-children, Jo Martin, and husband, Stan; Wendy Price and husband, Freddie; her step-grandchildren, Brittany Fagge, Nick Price and Kenneth Martin; her step-great-grandchild, Aaron. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from six until eight o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Angela Halbrook.
