Annie "Ann" James Loftis

Burlington: Annie “Ann” James Loftis, 85, surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Loftis and Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Troy’s home (4910 Longleaf Road, McLeansville).

Ann was born in Rockingham County to the late James W. and Mamie Brown James. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was the foundation of her family. She owned and operated Loftis Beauty Shop out of her home for 35 years. Ann enjoyed spending time playing cards and working puzzles with her friends, cooking, crocheting, golfing and fishing. She adored her two Pekinese companions, DeeGee and Charlie; however, nothing made Ann prouder than being called Nana. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Pleasant View Assembly of God where her beloved nephew, Gary Loftis was her pastor. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Otis Bray Loftis; brothers, Lewis, Charlie, Pete and Delma; and sisters, Hallie, Florene, Glenna and Sadie.

Ann’s legacy lives on in her family; her son, Troy Loftis and wife, Winnie of McLeansville; her daughters, Bonnie Loftis Honeycutt and husband, James of Burlington and Carol Loftis Jones and husband, Greg of Reidsville. She was cherished by her grandchildren, Jennifer York, Melanie Tudor, Stephanie Loftis, Stacy May and husband, Wes and Derek Jones; her great grandchildren, Josh York, Tyler Tudor, Piper York, Grayson Tudor, Emma Griffin, Conner Jones and Caden Jones; her sister, Reatha Perdue of Montvale, VA; and her special sister-in-law, Doris Loftis Hall.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the heartfelt care and support Dr. Christina Rama gave their mother and family in her last days. Our Mom was ready for her heavenly journey home and in her last moments she said, “My journey is complete, 100%”.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Assembly of God, Post Office Box 2133, Reidsville, NC 27323.
