Reidsville: Annie Craddock Fowlkes, 85, of 157 Irvin Farm Road, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the Penn Nursing Center.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2015, at Reidlawn Cemetery, with Dr. Duane King officiating.
Mrs. Fowlkes was born in Rockingham County. She was a longtime and faithful member of First Congregational Christian Church and was retired from the American Tobacco Company with over 30 years of service. Her strength and courage carried her through the years in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and was always taking pride in her appearance even during the latter years of her life. As it says in “Proverbs 31:25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William G. “Jill” Fowlkes; her son, Chris Fowlkes; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Fowlkes is survived by her son, Randall Fowlkes of the home; daughter-in-law, Debra Fowlkes of Reidsville; grandchildren, Jessica Fowlkes King and husband, Corey, Maranda Fowlkes, Zach Fowlkes and wife, Naomi, Jonathon Fowlkes and wife, Staci and Jennifer Collins; great grandchildren, Jocelyn and Tristan King, Karlie and Blake Fowlkes, Finley Fowlkes and extended family.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the love and care shown to Mrs. Fowlkes during her time at the Penn Nursing Center.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. and other times at Debra Fowlkes home (2216 Doe Run, Reidsville).
