Annie Groff Gray

Reidsville – Annie Groff Gray, 87, of 1755 South Scales Street, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008 at Annie Penn Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. George Fox officiating. Mrs. Gray was born in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Robert L. and Arabelle Burnett Groff. She was retired from the American Tobacco Company after over 40 years of service. She was a long time and faithful member of Baptist Temple Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gray; her brothers, Henry and Hiawatha Groff; and her sister, Maddie Groff. Survivors include her brothers, Robert L. “Buck” Groff and wife, Virginia, Rev. John Groff and wife, Jane and Malcolm “Pete” Groff and wife, Jane all of Reidsville; sister, Ola Groff Dalton of Reidsville and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 3rd from 6:00 - 8:00PM and other times at Buck and Virginia’s home (471 Harrison Crossroad).
