Annie Cook Jones

Browns Summit: Annie Cook Jones, 78, of 5679 Turner Smith Road, died on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Beacon Place. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, February 17th at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Allen Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the burial. Annie was born in Guilford County to the late John Edward Cook and Vera Huffines Cook. She was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and the Helping Hands Sunday School Class. She retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. She loved working outdoors in her vegetable and flower gardens and was known for her talents in cooking and crocheting for others. She had a jolly personality that could always make others smile. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Jones; brother, A.J. Cook; sisters, Ruby C. Busick and Lillie Cook. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Thomason and husband, Robert; grandson, Benjamin Thomason; brother, Charlie Cook and wife, Pauline; sister, Ada Calhoun and husband, Leo; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Other times family will be at the home of her sister, Ada Calhoun 5691 Turner Smith Road, Brown Summit, NC.
