April Michelle Tate, 43, passed to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

A service to honor April’s life. as well as her mother, Lucy Krites, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Neal Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will be available from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service and friends are welcome to stop by Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, November 9th to sign the register and see April from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

April was born July 22, 1977 in Reidsville, NC to the late William Howard Tate and the late Lucy Hyatt Krites. She was a graduate of Reidsville High School and Rockingham Community College with an associate’s degree and was currently a medical coordinator and caregiver.

April loved life more than anything. Family and friends were April’s passion and delight. She was natural caregiver, whether it was a client of hers, family or friend. She was always there with a smile on her face asking how she could help. There is no doubt about the love she had for her son Daylin. From day one she loved and cared for him like no other mother could. The sun rose and set on Daylin. She showed him love, happiness, and the meaning of life. He will forever be her baby boy.

April was preceded in death by her father, Howard Tate and mother, Lucy Jean Krites; grandparents, Bill Preslar, Sr., Javan “J.C.” and Addie Tate.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Daylin Carter; her second dad, Jeff Krites; brothers, Darrell Tate (Robin), Jeffrey Krites (Molly); nieces, Chelsea Tate (Ricky), Ashley Biggs, McKynlee Krites; nephews, Zach Apple and J.T. Tate (Leann); great nieces and nephews, Zoey, Zaya, Charlotte, Cole, Hailey, Zackery; grandmother, Thelma Preslar; and fur baby, Paisley; many uncles, aunts and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to help with funeral expenses for April and support for Daylin would be welcomed.
