Reidsville -Archie Lee Hilliard, 79, of 1212 South Park Drive, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2011, at Wilkerson Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Father Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington, NC with military rites.Archie was born in Nash County to the late Abraham and Vessie Winstead Hilliard. He served his country both in the U. S. Army and U. S. Navy as a Lt. Commander, serving in Korea, Germany and in Viet Nam. He was with the Piedmont Triad International Airport and he attended the Greek Orthodox Church in Greensboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Jean Hilliard-Biggers.He is survived by his wife, Zoe Benouka Hilliard, of the home; sons, Basilakis Stokes and his fiance, Jeannette Orduna and her son, Trevor, Giovanni "Pee Wee" Gambino and wife, Crystal; grandchildren, Zoe Isabella, Hannah Blaine and Gabriel Archie; brother, Emmanuel Hilliard; sisters, Louise Hilliard-Callender, Mary E. Hilliard-Green, Mable B. Hilliard-West, Margie R. Hilliard-Stokes, Clara D. Hilliard-Pierce, Dorothy Maxine Hilliard-Clark and Lillie Mae Hilliard; god-daughter, Debbie Whitfield; special friends, Rita and Ron Wharey; special niece, Abenna Lamb, numerous nephews and nieces.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 9 P.M. and other times at the residence.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilkersonfuneral.com
