Arietta Weiss Fowlkes

Reidsville, NC - Arietta Weiss Fowlkes, 84, of 1116 Green Street, passed away at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 30 at First Congregational Christian Church and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mrs. Fowlkes was born in Lancaster, PA and was the daughter of the late George and Florence Bowder Altland. She was retired from Trent's Record Center and was a longtime and faithful member of First Congregational Church. She served as a volunteer for Annie Penn Hospital for over 30 years. Mrs. Fowlkes lived to be a servant of the Lord and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Fowlkes.She is survived by her daughter, Judi Williams and husband, Ken of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Justin Williams and wife, Michelle and Lynne Chilton and husband, Rodney; her great grandchildren, Seth and Olivia Williams and Ryan and Matthew Chilton.At other times, the family will also be receiving friends at her home.
