Arlie Elvin Boyd

Pelham- Arlie Elvin Boyd, 66, of 220 Bowes Street, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Gaffney and Rev. Kenneth Hammock officiating. Pallbearers will be Christopher Boyd, Michael Angell, Claude Angell, Spencer Boyd, Mike Martin and Ricky Long. Burial will follow at Lively Stones Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham. Arlie was born in Pittsylvania County, Va. to the late Oscar and Vernelle Clifton Boyd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death of his brother, William Curtis Boyd. Mr. Boyd was retired from the Ball Corp. and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Martin Boyd of the home, sons, Jerry Boyd of Callands, Va., and Doyle Boyd of the home; daughter, Anita Angell of Beulaville, NC, brother, Melvin Ray Boyd of Reidsville; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM and other times at 4568 Shady Grove Road, Providence, NC.
