Arthur Monroe Starnes

Reidsville– Arthur “Pete” Monroe Starnes, 77, of Highgrove Longterm Care, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Annie Penn Hospital. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Reidlawn Cemetery. Pete was born in Anson County to the late James Charlie and Virginia Bright Mills Starnes. He was of the Baptist faith and along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Goodwin, Mary Frick, Sara Hopkins, Thelma Smith; brothers, James Charlie Starnes, Jr. and James Thomas Starnes.Survivors include his sisters, Edna Starnes Paschal and Virginia Starnes Billingsley; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister Edna, 923 Lawsonville Avenue..
