Reidsville: Arthur James Williams, 93, of 882 Bakers Cross Road, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008at Britthaven of Madison. Funeral services will be heldat 11:00 AM, Friday, August 22, 2008 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. TomBrown officiating. Interment will followin the church cemetery. Mr. Williams was born in Rockingham County to the late Charles James and Laura Sue Roberts Williams. He was an active member of Sharon Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and Deacon. Arthur loved his beagle dogs and rabbit hunting. Along with playing Rook, he was an avid New York Yankees fan. Along withis parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Mae Bailey; two brothers; two sisters, grandson, Thomas Hill, son-in-law; Dewey Boaz and great-great grandson, Dustin Greer Jr. He is survived by wife, Minnie McCollum of the Brian Center of Eden, daughters; Kathryn Taylor and husband, Levi of Reidsville, Loraine Pruitt and husband Wilson of Ruffin, Rebecca Draper and husband Frankie of Raleigh, Barbara Hill and husband Dean of Reidsville, seven grandsons, two granddaughters, four great grandchildren, two step-great grandsons, two great-great grandchildren, one step-great great grandson, sisters Susie Lancaster and Ann Baumgardner and husband Sterling. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home, August 21, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and other times at the home place, 882 Bakers Crossroads, Reidsville.
