Ashby Eddrington Martin

Reidsville: Ashby “Tiny” Eddrington Martin, 77, of Water Works Road, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Penn Nursing Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Dave Huggins officiating. Tiny was born in Rockingham County to the late Joe and Alma Boggs Martin and a veteran of the US Army. He retired from The American Tobacco Company and was a member of Community Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence, Russell, Jimmy and Bill Martin and a sister, Louise Case. Survivors include a sister, Edna Earl Chaney; sisters-in-law, Ruth Martin and Mildred Martin; caregivers, niece, Billie Whitener and nephew, Mike Martin and wife, Marie. Several other nieces and nephews. There will be no formal visitation but the family will be at the residence of Billie Whitener, 145 Somerset Drive.
