Mattie Austelle Tesseneer Luttrell Passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of July 3, 2010 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville, Virginia. Born on September 29, 1917 in Haleyville, Alabama to James and Addie Tesseneer, she was the 9th of 11 children. She married her high school sweetheart, Arlon Luttrell on May 2, 1946. Married 64 years they had known each other for 77 years. She lived in many places in the United States and the world as an army wife. Austelle and Arlon lived in Germany for several years, where they adopted their daughter Sharon in 1957. Together the family settled in Yuba City, California in 1964 where she was a homemaker until 1972 when she took a job outside the home. Active in PTA , Camp Fire girls & 4-H while Sharon was growing up, in later years, she was involved in many fraternal organizations including Eastern Star, White Shrine and Rebeccahs. She loved to crochet, knit, sew and travel. Austelle and Arlon moved to Reidsville, NC in 2002. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings and a great grandson, Micheil Allen Norwood Lambert. She is survived by her husband Arlon Luttrell, daughter Sharon Snead, son -in- law Jack Snead, granddaughter Staci Elizabeth Glenn (spouse- Jason), grandson Bart Allen Lambert (spouse-Dillon), granddaughter Holli Renae Kiechler (spouse- Keith), great granddaughter Jillian Ella Raine Lambert, great grandson Grant Paul Kiechler, great grandson Lucas Cash Allen Lambert and numerous nieces and nephews. Private burial will be on August 10th in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
