Austin Caudell Brande

: Austin Caudell Brande, 85, of 4814 Greenbrook Rd, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Drew Hellams and Rev. Gary Owens officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mr. Brande was born on November 26,1931, in Guilford County, to the late Albert Coleman Brande and Ollie Grimes Lambeth and was a retiree of Hajoca Corporation where he served 35 years and then retired again after 10 years with James M Pleasant Inc. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a Staff Seargent in North Africa. He was also a charter member of the Northeast Guilford Volunteer Fire Department serving in various roles. He was a faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church where he sang with the choir. He helped found the youth baseball program in the Monticello community and coached for many years. He was quiet but adventurous with a great sense of humor. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother Albert Brande Jr. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, LaVerne Greene Brande; daughter Kathy Brande (Stephen Durham), sons Tim Brande ( Margaret), Randy Brande (Christal), grandchildren; Jon Brande (Christie), Christopher Brande and Katie Brande. He is also survived by siblings Iris Jones, Toni Andrews (Tom) and Wendell Brande (Mary) along with a large extended family. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2017, from 6-8 P.M., at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville NC and other times at the home.
