Reidsville – Autrude French Isley, 95, of 1004 Lindsey Street, died Friday, January 2, 2009 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, January 5, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Tom Worley officiating. The burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Isley, the oldest of 10 children, was born in Rockingham County to the late Jim and Betty Green French. She was retired from Burlington Industries and then worked for Matkins Plumbing. She was a longtime and faithful member of Community Baptist Church. She was a voracious reader and always commented that her books were her\r\nfriends. She also loved gardening and flowers. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Evley Isley; and her sons, Buddy Wayne Isley and James Edward Isley.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Waynick and husband, Bud of Reidsville; daughter-in-law, Kay Boyd Isley of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Lea Waynick Masoudi and husband, Hamid, Lisa Waynick Kim, Vickie Willard and husband, Melvin, Laura Isley and husband, Jeff and Desi Forsyth and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Alan Willard, Randy Willard, James Willard, William Kim, Jonathan Kim, Cher Masoudi, Alee Masoudi, Justin Forsyth, Drew Forsyth and Ashton Forsyth; great-great grandchildren, Emily Willard, Andrew Willard, Jonathan Willard and Hayley Willard; brother, Robert French of Hawthorne, CA; sister Florence Moore of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Brenda Haskins, Doris Hooper, Clara Gunn and Carlton Stewart.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
