Barbara Ola Bradley Bailey

Barbara Ola Bradley Bailey, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2020 with her caring and faithful daughter at her side.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Lively Stones Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Kent and long time friend, Michael Gauldin officiating. There will be no formal visitation or receiving of friends at her home. Mrs. Bailey will lie in state at Wilkerson Funeral Home and people will be able to come by and register as well as watch the memorial tribute video.

Barbara was born in Rockingham County to the late Urias Oscar Bradley and Esther Claro Sigmon Bradley. She was a member of Penn Memorial Baptist Church until she was, for health reasons, no longer able to attend in September of 2019. She then began watching services online for Lively Stones Baptist Church. She was known for her world class pound cakes. She was always answering canning, cooking and preserving questions for many many people across the United States. She loved watching and feeding her humming birds. Most of all she loved her family.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, James “JD” Daniel Bailey; brothers, Rex Bradley, David Bradley, Norman Bradley; infant brother, Gray Ehoe Bradley; infant sister, Odessa Lee Bradley; half-sister, Julia Mae Bradley Cody and half-brother, Lewis Barnum Bradley.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Kaye Bailey Corum; distant grandson, Jason McDaniel; honorary sister, Opal Strader and a loving extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Rockingham County and all the family and friends who came and helped during our time of need.
