Barbara “Bobbie” Stultz Cross, 78, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Happy Home Congregational Church with Rev. Bruce McBride officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Happy Home Church and other times at the home.
Mrs. Cross was born in Rockingham County to the late Thomas “Pete” Russell Stultz and Margaret Eaton Stultz. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to travel and her favorite pastime was dancing. She was an excellent seamstress whose work is found in many homes in Rockingham County and across the country. She retired from the Rockingham County School System as a teacher’s assistant for the special education classes at Reidsville Intermediate School. Her pleasures included spending time with her family, especially at reunions and gatherings.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie H. Cross and brother, Samuel Russell Stultz.
Survivors include her son, Howard Cross of Ruffin; daughter, Vickie Boykin and husband, Jim of Wilson; grandchildren: Justin Cross, Chelsea Cross, Brad Boykin and wife, Carrie and Jennifer Boykin; great grandchildren: Zachary Cross, Wyatt Boykin and Bradley Boykin; and a devoted dog, Trixie.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
The family wanted to thank all of her friends and family that prayed, visited and sent cards during her illness; special loving thanks to Frankie Williams, Frances Dix and Brenda Ellington.
