Barbara Talley Cook

Barbara Talley Cook, 59, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 4, 2018 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Lively Stones Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Kent officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Other times the family will be at the home. Barbara was born in Rockingham County to the late Jessie and Myrtle Bryant Talley. She was a former employee of Tultex Inc., Zarn Inc. and Wal-Mart Inc. in Danville, Va. and a member of Lively Stones Baptist Church. She was an avid horse lover and always loved going to visit and see horses when she could. She wishes to thank Leonard and Carol Moore for letting her come visit their horses. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Cook, baby sister, Gloria Talley and brother, Cecil Talley. Survivors include her son, Lance Cory Cook; brothers, David Talley and Thomas Talley; sister, June Talley; three nephews and a host of cousins and friends and her dog companion Chihuahua, “Frost”.
