Barbara Gunn Robertson

Reidsville: Barbara Gunn Robertson, 59, of 212 Roberson Lane, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Rockingham County Hospice Home.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.Barbara was born in Gretna, VA to the late Betford Allen Gunn and Ruby Worley Gunn. She had lived most of her life in Reidsville and was a member at Main Street United Methodist Church, the Eden Christian Women, Phi Pheta Kappa Sorority, Women's Cancer Support Group and the North Star Knitting and Crocheting association. She was a co-owner of Affordable and Reliable Home Improvement and was very active with Relay for Life, serving as past advocacy chair which required meeting with NC Legislators to stress the importance of cancer research, as well as participating in Relay for Life and survivor activities. Barbara is survived by her husband, Randall W. Robertson of the home; son, Johnny Earles of Eden; daughter, Jennifer Medley of Roanoke, TX; grandchildren, Maxter Cooper and Taylor Medley; sister, Annie Laurie Carroll of Providence, NC; special brother-in-law, Tommy Robertson. Memorials may be made to the Rockingham County Hospice Home, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375; American Cancer Society, 4A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 or Main Street United Methodist Church , Building Fund, P.O. Box 338, Reidsville, NC 27320. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
