Benjamin Frank Denny

Reidsville: Benjamin “Frank” Denny, 86, of 706 Lawndale Drive, died on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Wesley Long Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 10 at Wilkerson Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Arnold Cook and Pastor Jerry Denny officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with military rites.Mr. Denny was born in Rockingham County to the late Ben Denny and Loula Mae Somers Denny. He lived in Rockingham County all of his life and was a faithful Christian and member of Community Baptist Church. Mr. Denny was a special loving husband of 62 years who loved to sing and play guitar. Frank served in the United States Navy and retired from Hudson & Lester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Horace Denny, David Denny and Robert Denny; sisters, Edna Stone, Florence Williams and Thelma Hurley; two nephews and one niece. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Denny of the home; brother and sister-in-laws, Jesse Chilton and wife, Dorothy, Colean Shropshire and husband, Claude, Cleo Lawson and husband, Parks, Garland Chilton and wife, Annie Mae, Josephine Hopkins and husband, Charles, Mary Smith and husband, Gene; four nephews; four nieces; twelve great-nieces and nephews; and twenty-one great-great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
