Reidsville - Benjamin Lee Gibson, 78, of 612 Thomas Street, died on Saturday, July 28th, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 31st, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Claude Harrelson officiating. The burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with full military graveside rites preformed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.Ben was born in Rockingham County to the late Andrew Jackson and Della Mae Gibson. He was a member of Baptist Temple Church. He served in the United States Army after graduating from Reidsville High School. He graduated from Rockingham Community College in 1968 with a degree in Master of Metal Fabrication, Machinist. He went on to work for Cone Mills in management at the Edna and White Oak plants, where he retired from in 2007. He enjoyed racing, traveling with his family, and morning walks with his brother, Floyd "Pete" Gibson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Grey "Mrs. G.," his brothers Wayne, James, Bernard Allen, Cecil, Leonard and William and sisters, Janice Burns, Margaret Anne Martin, Francis Belton, and Mary M. Gibson.He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Lee Gibson and wife, Faye, Benjamin "Benjy" Arthur Gibson and wife, Annie "Pumpkin," Nathan Scott Gibson and wife, Jean; daughter, Susan Grey Tucker and husband, David; grandchildren, Kimberly Wilson, Logan Gibson and wife, Jessica, Frankie Chilton, Amanda Gibson, Brandon Gibson, and wife, Brittany, Shannon Gibson, Gabrielle Gibson, and Dalton Tucker; great-grandchildren, Grayson Gibson and Hunter Gibson; brothers, Floyd "Pete" Gibson and wife, Mozelle, Charlie Gibson and wife Linda; sister, Elaine Scott and husband Norman; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jerry Robertson.The family will receive friends Monday, July 30, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made in Benjamin's name to Hospice Home of Rockingham County; P.O.
