Benjamin Howard Sharpe

Hudson, NC - Benjamin "Benny" Howard Sharpe, 73, of 207 Kirkland Ave., died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his home.Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 15, 2012 at New Lebanon Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Vaughan officiating. Mr. Sharpe was born in Rockingham County, NC and was the son of the late, Riley H. and Violet Webster Sharpe. He was formerly employed with Nationwide Insurance Company of Madison and later retired from Lowe's Home Improvement. He was a member of New Lebanon Congregational Christian Church and served for many years as the Sunday School Superintendent. He is survived by his son, Philip Sharpe and wife, Olesya of Bethany; grandchildren, Phil, Kelly, Matt and Jake Sharpe; his sister, Daisy Sharpe Purgason of Reidsville and a large extended family.There will be no formal visitation.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 202 Centreport Drive, Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27409.
