Bennie Edward McKinney

Ruffin – Bennie Edward McKinney, 72, of 1976 Ashland Road, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 21, 2011at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernest Sartin officiating. Interment will follow Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Bennie was born in Caswell County to the late Narver and Mary Frances Jarrell McKinney. He was a retiree of the Caswell County Sherriff’s Department and of Baptist faith. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Patterson. Survivors include his wife, Rose McKinney; daughters, Diane McCraw and husband, Jimmy and Tammy Paschal and husband, Timmy; son, Dr. Ivan McKinney; grandchildren, Joshua Patterson and fiance’, Wendy Farmer, Sabrina Paschal; step grandchildren, Patsy McCraw and Nina McCraw; great grandchildren, Austin Patterson, Alexyss Patterson, Abygail Patterson and J.B. Patterson; step great grandchildren, Sylas McCraw and Makenzie Farmer; brother, Lawrence “Bud” McKinney; sisters, Nancy Calhoun and husband, Tommy, Norma McKinney, Jearleen Booth and husband, Gordon; special caregivers and friends, Sylvia Fulton and Phyllis Reynolds. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
