Bernard Hillman Hiatt

Reidsville – Bernard Hillman. Hiatt, 77, of 211 Neal Street, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Sandy Brown and Mr. John Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. The burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites. Mr. Hiatt was born in Rockingham County to the late Nathan and Georgia Tate Hiatt. He was a veteran serving in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired from Miller Brewing Company. He attended Lawsonville Road Baptist Church for several years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ned Hiatt and sister, Vera Hiatt Holland. He is survived by his daughter, Joy Hiatt Watkins of Georgia; son, Bobby Hiatt of the home; grandchildren, Christopher Hiatt, Timothy Hiatt, Jonathan Watkins and Amber Watkins; sister, Shelby Newton of Reidsville and several nieces.
