Bernie R. Bailey

Reidsville – Rev. Bernie R. Bailey, Sr., 81, of Reidsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015. A native of Unicoi, Tennessee, he was born on May 13th, 1934 to the late Rev. George Eston Bailey and Gertrude Dockery Bailey. He was a United States Army veteran. Rev. Bailey earned a Masters degree in counseling from North Carolina Central University. He was an Ordained Bishop for the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee. He served the Kingdom of God in the capacity of Evangelist, Counselor, Teacher and Pastor for over sixty years. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Opal, Everette, Paul, Marie, Sue and infant brother Edward. Survivors include his wife, Julia B. Bailey of the home; three sons, Rev. James Eston Bailey and wife Cheryl of Rural Hall; Clyde Wesley Bailey and wife, Angie of Durham; Bernie R. Bailey, Jr. and wife Crystal of Whitsett; one daughter, Babbi Bailey Moore and husband, Greg of Eden; grandchildren: Christie Lambert and husband, Neal, Christopher Moore, Mandy Wiggins and husband, Jonathon, Cami Gunn and husband, Cameron, Hannah Lambert and husband, Brent, Alyssa Bailey, Dakota Bailey, Jeremy Bailey, Brett Bailey, Lani Tendziegloski; one sister, Willie Mae Spinks of Asheboro; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 at two o’clock at Pleasant View Assembly of God. Rev. Matthew Gunter and Rev. Gary Loftis will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from six until eight o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the family home.
