Reidsville –Bessie Rakestraw Everette, 100, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Avante of Reidsville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. A.C. Palmer officiating. The burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Everette was born in Rockingham County to the late John Waddell and Martha Gertrude Carter Rakestraw. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Everette; her son, John “Johnny” William Everette and an infant son; her sister, Mary Sutton; her brothers, Willie Rakestraw and John “Pretty Boy” Rakestraw.
Mrs. Everette is survived by her daughter Elizabeth E. Holleman and husband, David of Reidsville; daughter-in-law, Kathy P. Everette of Madison; grandsons, Brad Everette and wife, Kim of Asheville, Brian Everette of Madison and Dalmin Green of Reidsville; step grandchildren, Angela H. Moss and husband, Allen of Wake Forest, Craven Peay and wife, Jennifer of Oak Ridge and Caroline Holland and husband, T.J. of Robbinsville; great grandchildren, Pattie Everette, Lily Everette, Katie Pearl Green and Abbie Leigh Green; step great grandchildren, Andrew Holland, Bryson and Lydia Peay, Emma Kate Harrison; sisters, Pauline Loftis, Sula Mae Knight and husband, William, Hazel Martin, Evelyn Glaspie, Juanita “Polly” Robertson and Betty Sparks and husband, Billy.
The family will receive friends and family Monday, December 29, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at 202 Holle Evergreen Farm.
The family would like to thank the staff of Avate for their professional and sincere care of Mrs. Everette this past year.
