Bettie (Elizabeth) Eades Yeich

Reidsville–Bettie (Elizabeth) Eades Yeich died quietly at home May 21, 2015 following a long illness. Born June 24, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. B.D. Smith of Omar and Man, WV. Mrs. Yeich was an elementary school teacher, business woman, homemaker and mother. She graduated from Man High School and attended the University of Kentucky and Marshall University. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining and visiting family. For the last nine years she made her home at Well-Spring Retirement Community in Greensboro, NC. During her years in Greensboro, Mrs. Yeich was active in supporting several human service charities in the community. Along with her parents, Mrs. Yeich was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Smith Cook, brother, Dr. B.D. Smith, Jr. and daughter Margaret Jean Howell. Mrs. Yeich was married for thirty four years to US Army Col (ret) Charles Eades of Colonial Heights, VA and later in life to US Navy Capt (ret) Lloyd Yeich of Santa Fe, NM; both now deceased. Survivors include daughter Constance Pinion (Pete) of Reidsville, NC, son William Gregory Eades (Chrystal Bartlett) of Raleigh, NC, grandson Mason Lee Lightfoot (Kitti) of Blairs, VA, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, old friends and her friend and daily companion, Alicia Flowers. The family also wishes to thank the Well-Spring community for the loving care that was given to Mrs. Yeich over the years. Per Mrs. Yeich's wishes no formal services are planned at this time.
