Reidsville – Betty DeLancey Craddock, 77, of 1536 W. Harrison St., went home to be with The Lord at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2014, with Rev. Greg Robertson officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
She was a native of Rockingham County and was a longtime and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as the first female deacon of the church. She retired from Rockingham County Schools as the Assistant to the Superintendant. She was a woman of faith, laughter and friendship. Her infectious smile and laughter were a blessing to many. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Craddock Knight; her father, Raymond DeLancey; and her brother, Wayne DeLancey.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Craddock of the home; her son, Steve Craddock and wife, Dawn of Cornelius, NC; grandchildren, Emily Beth Craddock and Russell Steven Craddock; mother, Helen McLean DeLancey of Reidsville; her brother, Buddy DeLancey of Reidsville; her son-in-law, Michael Knight of Reidsville; her step grandchildren, Emily and Michael Cole Knight; sisters-in-law, Hazel McCollum of Asheboro, NC and Mazzie DeLancey of Reidsville; several nieces and nephews; a large church family and many friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 PM, Friday, January 31 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
