Reidsville– Betty Knowles Dickerson, 65, of 299 Alee Road, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Moses Cone HospitalFuneral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2009, at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Gary Allen, Barry Allen, Chad Knowles, Kevin Paschal, Van Walker and Craig Cox; honorary pallbearers will be Kory Paschal and Brison Knowles.Mrs. Dickerson, a native of Rockingham County, was born on June 18, 1943 to the late Alfred and Annie Bell Williams Knowles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Knowles and sister, Brenda Knowles Paynter. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was devoted to her sister, Audrey Allen. Betty always enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.She is survived by her husband, David Dickerson of the residence; son, Tyron Dickerson of Reidsville, daughter, Tanya Dickerson of Sandy Ridge, grandchildren, Ashley Dickerson and Tyler Dickerson; brother, Brison Knowles and wife, Carol of Reidsville, sisters, Audrey Knowles Allen of Reidsville and Cora Knowles Lewis of Danville and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Eastside Baptist Church from 6 to 8 PM and other times at the residence.
