Reidsville– Betty Jessup Land, 75, passed into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, May 31st at UNC-Chapel Hill Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Vance Street Baptist Church, 1614 Vance Street, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. John Eure officiating. Burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Vance Street Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Betty was born in Surry County to the late Roy Jessup and Exie Cain Jessup. Betty was a devoted loving wife and mother, who dedicated her full time and attention to the Lord and her family. Jack and Betty met in 1958 while serving as private investigators in Pennsylvania. Since that time the two have been inseparable, Jack with the Lord’s ministry and Betty as a devoted worker in both song and deed. She was loved and will be missed by all. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Leo and Lewis Jessup and her sister, Lumie Moss; step daughter, Riconda Land Moore.
Betty is survived by her husband, Rev. Jack Land; one daughter, Rhonda Ford and husband Bill of Wake Forest, NC; and one son Ricky Land and wife, April of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren: Trinity Jessie, Everett Ford, Candace Ford, William Ford, Sabrina Land, and Hannah Land; and six great grandchildren.
