Betty Stewart Jones

Reidsville – Betty Stewart Jones, 86, of 1253 Almond Road, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Howard’s Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born in Rockingham County to the late Hugh Aubrey Stewart, Sr. and Mollie Jones Stewart. She worked as a tobacco farmer and was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church. She was a longtime 4H leader and she loved to travel. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Jones Sr. and six brothers and sisters. Mrs. Jones is survived by her children, Johnny Jones, Faith Jones and husband, Bobby and David Jones all of Reidsville, Douglas Jones of Lexington, KY and Susan Madison of the home; grandchildren, Cindy Whittaker and husband, Doug, Sandy Jones, Joshua Jones and wife, Ashli, Jeffrey Madison and Sydney Jones; great grandchildren, Hope, Mariah, Keena, Charity, Stewart and Grayson Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from 6-8 PM and other times at the home.
