Betty McGee

Betty McGee, affectionately known as "B," passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on September 29, 1936, in Rockingham County, Betty was beloved by all her family and friends. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Covington Memorial Wesleyan Church, located at 3218 Vance Street Extension, Reidsville, NC 27320. A funeral service will take place the following day on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM, also at Covington Memorial Wesleyan Church, officiated by Pastor Ralph Clayton and Pastor Buck Garrison. The burial will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Betty is survived by her three daughters, Debbie McGee Short and her husband Luke, Kathy McGee Hales and her husband Barry, and Cheryl McGee, who carry on her spirit of love and compassion. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who cherished her greatly.

Throughout her life, Betty found joy in spending evenings in heartfelt conversations with her friends, particularly with her dear friend Gracie. These connections enriched her life, and she sincerely valued every moment spent with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephus Taylor and Ada Taylor, and her beloved husband, Billy McGee. In addition, she was mourned by her brothers, Austin Taylor, Richard Taylor, JC Taylor, and Rayford Taylor, and by her sisters, Gladys Vernon and Bernice Roberts.

Betty's  legacy of love, kindness, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
