Betty Davis Shreve

Burlington: Betty Davis Shreve, 78, of 96 Porter G. Simmons Road, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jackie Talton officiating. The burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Betty was a native of Forsyth County and was the daughter of the late Franklin and Ruby Hemrick Davis. She was a longtime member of Calvary’s Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Chase Bag Co. after 37 years of service. Betty loved her family, was a gifted seamstress and was affectionately known as “Mama Betty”. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Shreve, Jr. and her granddaughter, Jamie Glaze. Betty is survived by her children, Jimmy Shreve and wife, Pam of Reidsville, Cheryl Shreve Simmons and husband, James of Burlington and Ronnie Shreve and fiancé, Tracy Laughridge of Greensboro; grandchildren, Frankie Simmons and fiancé, Mary Boles, Brandon Shreve, Justin Shreve and Christa Shreve; sisters, Barbara Davis Brame and Amelia Davis Lynn both of Reidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
