Betty Jean Smith Pierce

Betty Jean Smith Pierce, 75, of 705 Walters Street, died on March 10, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro. The family will have a memorial service at the residence on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 6:30 PM with Rev. Gary Loftis officiating. The Lord came for our precious angel. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a native of Danville, Va. and was the daughter of the late Charlie Keen Smith and Ruth Lee Dixon Smith. She was a homemaker and was a CNA for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Pierce. She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Ferguson and husband, Jimmy, Nancy Denning and Pam Stanley; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a brother, Eric “Buck” Smith.
