Betty Jean Vernon

Betty Jean Frick Vernon, 75, formerly of 3108 Wentworth St. passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017, at Hospice of Rockingham County. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Milton Kennon and Norman Cox officiating. Mrs. Vernon was born on February 22, 1941 to the late Edgar Frick and Mary Ross Starnes. She loved gospel music, flowers fishing,shopping at thrift stores, yard sales and loved her family. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jackie C. Vernon and brothers, Tony, Jackie and Richard Frick. Survivors include her children: Randy Vernon, Dwayne Vernon, Cindy Vernon, Angela Wilson and husband Terry all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Roger Gibson and wife Bobbie Jo, Ronald Priddy and wife Tabitha and Kelsi Vernon all of Reidsville. Her great grandchildren include, Cody, Kaylea and Tyler Gibson, Kerri Vernon and Leland Priddy as well as Brianna and Taylor Carter all of Reidsville. She is also survived by her siblings Jimmy Frick, Bobby Frick, Maryann Mcneill, Polly Felton and husband George along with a large extended family and friends. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 Pm Wednesday January 4th at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at her son Randy’s home on 962 D 3rd Street.
