Betty Gillespie Wyatt

Reidsville - Betty Gillespie Wyatt, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Morehead Nursing CenterA graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Dave Huggins officiating. Mrs. Wyatt was born on December 16, 1930 to the late George and Maude Clay Gillespie. She was of the Baptist faith. Betty retired from First National Bank as a teller. She was a loving mother that loved her family but she especially loved her two grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dillard Wyatt, son, Lin Cooper, and sister, Shirley Merritt.Betty is survived by her daughter, Becky Newsom and husband Tim of Eden; grandchildren, Lindsey Newsom of Raleigh and Emily Newsom of Greensboro; step-children, Kim Wyatt and Keith Wyatt; brother-in-law, Bill Merritt and wife, Katherine of Reidsville; nephews, David and Patrick Merritt and niece, Debbie Cobb and extended family.The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
