Billy McCoy Harrison

Reidsville, NC - Billy McCoy Harrison, 67, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family at a later date. Billy was born on September 9, 1951 to Alonza and Thelma Mizelle Harrison in Martin County, NC. Billy was a dedicated and devoted Iron Worker Superintendent with multiple other steel industrial construction talents for the majority of his life. He was an amazing leader and mentor to his online Castle Age gaming family. Billy was loved by so many people for his infinite wisdom, his wonderful personality, his hard-headed stubbornness, his hilarious humor, spot-on sarcasm, his gentle but, firm support and his immensely large, loving and caring heart. Thankfully, he passed those traits, along with many others onto his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Lynn Harrison; his granddaughter, Mindy Leigh Barnett; his three sisters - Marie Harrison Vivrette, Shirley Brinson, Mary Jane Jacobson; and two brothers - A.L. Harrison and Larry Harrison. Billy is survived by his two daughters - Susan Harrison Wallis and husband, Taylor Wallis of Reidsville, NC and Billie Jo Harrison Haddock and husband, Jr Haddock of Kinston, NC; Grandchildren - Megan, Whitney and her fiancé Chris, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Daulton, Dillan, Ava, Camron, and Alston; two great grandsons - Dawson and Brandon; his sister Dorothy Dail of Tx and his brother William Harrison of Williamston, NC and his special friend Kathy. The family would like to express special heartfelt thanks to the Cone Health Cancer Centers at Annie Penn Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital and Moses Cone Hospital, the Radiology department at Annie Penn Hospital and Hospice of Rockingham County, NC.
