Blanch Porterfield Perkins

Ruffin: Blanch Porterfield Perkins, 90, our sweet mother, received her wings on Saturday, November 21, 2015. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Duane King officiating. There will not be a formal visitation, but you can come by the funeral home to view Blanch and sign the register book. Blanch was born on April 10, 1925, in Orange County, NC to the late James Limuel and Daisy Mae Porterfield. She really loved flowers, especially roses. She loved to cook and was an avid collector of Royal Albert Old Country Rose China. Blanch was a very sweet person with a kind heart. She loved raising and caring for her family. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Perkins, sons, Bobby Lee Perkins and Billy Thomas Perkins, and brothers, Ralph, Harold, Hubert and Curtis Porterfield. Survivors include her children, Herbert Perkins and wife Linda, Lenord Perkins, Peggy Hill and husband Larry and Ricky Perkins; her grandchildren, Susan Walters and husband Harvey and Michael Robison; her great grandchildren, Tiffany Bailey and Kelly Robison; her sister, Elsie Mitchell, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to Patrick Hooper for his love and devotion for the care he has given to Blanch.
