Reidsville: Bobbie Gilley Taylor, 81, of 1009 Poplar Street, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 24 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 27 at Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Norm Davis and Rev. James Hodges officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Pierce, Joseph Pierce, John Wilson, Dale Wilson, Joshua Taylor and Jared Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Rockingham County to the late Henry Marshall and Gracie Lamberth Gilley. Bobbie retired from Zarn Inc. with over 30 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Taylor loved working in her yard and tending to her Garden. One of her greatest pleasures was taking her grandchildren on trips. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marion Taylor; two sisters, Mary Lee Loftis and Ruth Corum; three brothers, Calvin Gilley, Malcolm Gilley and Robert Gilley.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her children, John Taylor and wife, Rhonda of New Bern, NC, Robert Taylor and wife Kathy, Linda Hearp, Catherine Pellino and husband, Joey all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Jerry Pierce; Joseph Pierce, John Wilson, Dale Wilson, Pam Wilson, Joshua Taylor, Jeannie Taylor, and Jared Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters; Helen Davis, Margaret Griffin, Dorothy Robertson and Betty Gunn.
The family will receive friends Saturday, 4 – 6 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
