Reidsville–Bobby Clinton Apple, 79, of 485 NC Hwy 14, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Eastside Baptist Church at 1859 Barnes Street in Reidsville NC. The burial will follow at the Apple-Nunn Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Eastside Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 29 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at his home. Bobby was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia and was a life long resident of Reidsville, NC . He retired from Lorillard after 40 years of service. Racing was his lifetime passion. He loved “going fast”, bird hunting and farming. He was a committed family man and ironically, his simple, quiet, strength always carried the family through the difficult times. Bobby would say, “Sometimes when you want to speed up in life, you have to slow down.” He was preceded in death by his father, William Jackson Apple and his brother, William Jackson “Jackie” Apple Jr. He is survived by his mother, Lillian Apple of Reidsville; his sons, Randy Apple and Benita Page, Bryant Apple both of Reidsville and Chris Apple and wife, Michelle of Pelham; grandchildren, Holli Carmichael and husband, Mitch, Brandy Apple, Cole Apple, Spencer Apple, Jeremy Apple, Josh Wilson and wife, Brittany, Brooke Wilson, Kristen Apple; great grandson, Remington Sizemore; brother, Curtis Apple and wife, Linda; sister, Erlene Johnson and husband, Raymond; special longtime friend and sweetheart, Dorothy “Dot” Stone and her family, Linda Somers and husband, Craig and Carl Stone and wife, Faye; and grandchildren. Bobby is also survived by a large extended family. The family would like to offer special thanks to his care givers for their around the clock attention and service, as well as the many close friends that visited during his illness.
