Reidsville: Bobby Lee Burnette departed from this life and went to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born on May 12, 1942 in Danville, Virginia to the late Robert L. Burnette and Helen Prevette Burnette. He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Lee Burnette, Jr. He was a devoted, loving father to daughter, Andrea Burnette-Albright and husband, Jimmie and son, Christopher Burnette all of Reidsville. He was a wonderful “Papa” to his granddaughter, Ava Bronwyn-Ann Albright whom he adored and shared the same birth date. Those left to cherish his memory are Bronwyn Burnette of Reidsville; brother, Glenn Burnette of Ringgold Virginia; sisters, Arlene Taylor of Ringgold, Virginia, Iva Bowell, Judy Martin, Doris Compton all of Danville, Virginia who were loving and supportive throughout his life. He had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Bobby was a former member of Piedmont Archeological Society, historian, an avid arrow head hunter, collector of Indian artifacts and had a great love of nature. He was previously employed in the textile industry and spent many years repairing old homes. He had the ability to fix anything and always did for everyone. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 The family wishes to thank Annie Penn Hospital, Kindred Hospital and the wonderful caregivers for their help, kindness and compassion.
