Bobby Lee Strader

Ruffin, NC - Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Bobby L. Strader, 72, of 1510 Guerrant Springs Road, went peacefully in to the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bland Leebrick officiating. The burial will follow at Happy Home Christian Church Cemetery. He has farmed and gardened all of his life. He loved to plant a huge garden and share with everyone. He worked 13 years for ITT Grennell Piping Company and the last 22 years for Lines Unlimited of Kernersville, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin W. Strader and his brother, Ronnie Strader. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Doris Dickerson Strader of the home; one son, Darryl Strader and wife, Carol of Reidsville; one daughter Lisa Bowman and husband, Steve of Reidsville. He had four grandchildren: Brittany and Wesley Strader and T.J. and Bradley Bowman. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Strader and step-father, Numa R. Strader of Ruffin; sister, Rachel Geddings and husband, Larry of Sumter, SC, Peggy French and husband, Larry of Reidsville, Faye Soyars and friend, David of Eden, NC, Diane Atkins and husband, Eddie of Madison, NC, Kathy Patterson and husband, Ricky of Summerfield, NC, Gail Strader of Eden, NC and one brother, Larry E. Strader and wife, Kathie of Ruffin, NC. We would like to thank Hospice Palliative Care of Rockingham County and special friends and neighbor, Odell and Faye Lawrence and a very special cousin of New Bern, NC, Dude Carter. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2009, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
